My child is not used to leaving me and I am worried that they will have a hard time separating from me at preschool. How will you handle that?
Our process of teaching a child to separate from their parent is called “Gradual Entry”. At Jack and Jill we facilitate the initial first 2 weeks of both programs, as a “lengthening of time in the classroom”, to suit the needs of each child and each family. If needed, parents are welcome in the classroom during the gradual entry process, and then teachers will work with each parent to come up with an individual plan based on your own child, to slowly transition the parent out of the classroom. Our teachers have many strategies and tips to help you and your child with gradual entry, the key is each parent and teacher must work together to achieve success for their child.
We may need to withdraw, move or require daycare half-way through the school year. What is your withdrawal process?
We sincerely hope you will be able to stay with us for the entire school year. However, if you find the need to withdraw for whatever reason, we simply require 1-month’s notice or 1-month’s tuition payment in lieu of notice, as stated in our Bylaws, and in respect for our teachers and services.
